Proudly Tip-Free (“we,” “us,” or “the Service”) operates the website at proudlytipfree.com, a public directory of restaurants that do not expect tipping. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in, we store your email address and an optional display name shown on your reviews.
- Business contact information. If you list or claim a restaurant, you may provide a contact name, business email, and business phone. This is private and used to administer your listing.
- Activity. Places you save, ratings and reviews you post, and new-place alert subscriptions (a ZIP code and search radius).
- Location. If you use “Near me,” your device shares your location with your browser to sort results. We do not store it.
- Verification data. For owner verification, we send a one-time code by SMS to a restaurant’s official public phone number and store only a hashed copy of that code, briefly, to check your entry.
How we use information
- To operate the directory, your account, saves, and ratings.
- To send you sign-in links and the alerts you ask for.
- To verify that a person controls a business they wish to manage.
- To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.
SMS / mobile messaging
We use SMS only to send one-time verification codes during the restaurant-owner verification process. Message frequency is limited (typically one code per verification request). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of further messages and HELP for help, or contact us at support@proudlytipfree.com.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third parties. Information sharing with the service providers below is solely to support the messaging and the Service itself.
Email communications
We send transactional email (sign-in links) and, if you subscribe, alerts about new tip-free places near you. You can remove an alert any time from your account.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of processors who handle data only on our behalf: Supabase (database & authentication), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), Twilio (SMS delivery), and OpenStreetMap/Nominatim (maps & address lookup). We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies
We use only the cookies necessary to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Data retention & your choices
You can edit your profile, remove saved places, delete your ratings, and remove alert subscriptions at any time. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at support@proudlytipfree.com.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13.

We may update this policy; we’ll revise the date above when we do.
